Hello! Thank you very much for giving us your time. First of all, I would like you to tell us how were your beginnings in the music industry? Where did the interest in this sector come from?
Hi! Thank you so much too for the upcoming interesting interview and your attention to Feelament, this is so important to me 🙂
I think we are at the beginning of the music industry still. But I can answer about the interest: I think it is something about freedom for me. Fo what you love and you will never “work” haha Actually it’s work anyway, but this is a different thing – when you work in a company or you work on a job you like or you work on your own business or if you create something that you love with all your heart. The last variant means freedom for me.
We can see more and more the presence of women in line-ups of festivals and other events, but even so, the male presence continues to predominate in this area. What do you think this is due to?
I think it’s due to some kind of stereotypes that make women feel like they have to do something else. And they are not good enough for that, “they are listening to you not because your band is good, just because of your tits”. It’s stressful shit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What steps do you think should be taken to help this situation change?
I think the first step will be when people will stop to compare female-fronted bands only with female-fronted bands. And yes, I know about Arch Enemy band, and no, we are not inspired by them lol

Music is music, I don’t notice the gender of bands.
What are the main differences that you found when entering the musical world as a woman?
One day I decided to help the guys lift something from the backline and immediately hurted my back. I admit that the average girl should not carry backline on a par with the average guy haha
But if we speak honestly and seriously I really hate when fans try to touch my private parts. Boobs, ass, inner side of legs… What’s the fuck is going on in your head, dude? Why do you think if I wear shirts it’s for you to touch it maaaaan It was a shock for me. Of course, no one has tried to touch guys. This is the difference.
Do you see a growth in the presence of female members in this industry in recent years? Where do you feel things have changed?
To be honest, I am not interested in this topic. Music is music, I don’t notice the gender of bands. I know a lot of female-fronted bands, we have a lot of friends among them, but they are just musicians for me.
Which women inspire you? Is there any you would be especially excited to work with?
My first vocal inspirations were Tairrie B from My Ruin, Brody Dalle of Distillers. And I grew up under the influence of Garbage band and L7.
In this sector which are the female artists that serve as a reference for new generations in your opinion?
Don’t know. Any female artist, I think. Russian-Tajik singer Manizha is so brave I think and she is a real influencer nowadays. She fights for women’s rights, for human rights, against racism… She is definitely good reference for each of us.
Being a woman, appearance is always judged more, something that in men seems not to be so relevant. Has your physical appearance had an influence in any way when working as a musician?
My physical appearance works well in all aspects of my life. I have a full-time job (i work in Internet marketing) but music and my appearance help people pay attention to me and remember me. And I think it works for every gender. It never was a goal for me, but yes, if you are a person with a bright appearance, people around you will pay attention to you.
Has there been any situation that you have experienced in this industry for being a woman that left a mark on you?
When someone tried to blame me for the hashtag #female-fronted because it sounds like a fetish. IMHO this hashtag is more about the timbre of the vocalist, like “metalcore” or “8-strings bass”… This is the way to explain what’s the music is waiting for you. Dat’s all.

Do you think sisterhood prevails over envy in the music world or is it the other way around?
I have to say, among my friends from female-fronted bands I don’t know anyone who really focused on this idea. We are just girls who love to play music. Ofc we support each other, but also we are ready to support our friends of any gender.
It has been a long time since the Covid-19 pandemic began and it has affected culture so much, especially live music. Little by little steps are being taken towards a return to normality, but there is still risk. How have you taken that situation? Please tell us about the way it affected your activity and how have you managed to move forward with your projects.
Our main audience is in Europe. We cannot go there. Especially not only because of covid, but also because of the foreign policy of our countries. Our group seems to be locked home.
Tell us in more detail, what are you currently involved in? Has the current situation an influence on the way you are approaching to your projects in the short and medium term?
We are recording the new album. It moves very slowly but positively affects the quality.
What do you think about this section about women in the industry? Do you think it helps to highlight the presence of women and her circumstances in rock and metal; Or, on the contrary, do you think that it can transmit a negative message?
Music is music and music is for everyone.

Creo que estamos al principio de la industria musical todavía. Pero puedo responder sobre el interés: Creo que para mí es algo relacionado con la libertad. Haz lo que amas y nunca «trabajarás» jaja En realidad es trabajo de todos modos, pero esto es una cosa diferente, cuando trabajas en una empresa o trabajas en un trabajo que te gusta o trabajas en tu propio negocio o si creas algo que amas con todo tu corazón. La última variante significa para mí la libertad.
Cada vez podemos ver más la presencia de mujeres en carteles de festivales y otros eventos, pero aun así sigue predominando la presencia masculina en este ámbito ¿A qué crees que se debe?
Creo que se debe a una especie de estereotipos que hacen que las mujeres sientan que tienen que hacer otra cosa. Y que no son lo suficientemente buenas para eso, «te están escuchando no porque tu banda sea buena, sólo por tus tetas». Es una mierda estresante ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
¿Qué medidas piensas que deberían tomarse para ayudar a que esta situación cambie?
Creo que el primer paso será cuando la gente deje de comparar las bandas lideradas por mujeres sólo con las bandas lideradas por mujeres. Y sí, sé lo de la banda Arch Enemy, y no, no nos inspiramos en ellos lol

¿Cuáles son las principales diferencias que encontraste a la hora de introducirte en el mundo musical siendo mujer?
Un día decidí ayudar a los chicos a levantar algo del backline e inmediatamente me lesioné la espalda. Admito que la chica promedio no debería llevar el backline a la par que el chico promedio jaja
Pero si hablamos honesta y seriamente, realmente odio cuando los fans tratan de tocar mis partes privadas. Las tetas, el culo, la parte interna de las piernas… ¿Qué coño te pasa por la cabeza, tío? Por qué crees que si me pongo camisetas es para que lo toques maaaaan Ha sido un shock para mí. Por supuesto, nadie ha intentado tocar a los chicos. Esta es la diferencia.
¿Ves un crecimiento de presencia de miembros femeninos en esta industria en los últimos años? ¿En que ves qué haya cambiado?
Para ser sincero, no me interesa este tema. La música es música, no me fijo en el género de las bandas. Conozco muchas bandas lideradas por mujeres, tenemos muchas amigas entre ellas, pero para mí son sólo músicos.
¿Por qué mujeres te sientes inspirada? ¿Hay alguna con la que te haría especial ilusión trabajar?
Mis primeras inspiraciones vocales fueron Tairrie B de My Ruin, Brody Dalle de Distillers. Y crecí bajo la influencia de la banda Garbage y L7.
¿Cuáles son las artistas que ves dentro del sector que sirven como referencia para nuevas generaciones?
No lo sé. Cualquier artista femenina, creo. La cantante ruso-tayika Manizha es muy valiente, creo, y es una verdadera influencia hoy en día. Lucha por los derechos de las mujeres, por los derechos humanos, contra el racismo… Es sin duda una buena referencia para todos nosotros.
Siendo mujer siempre se juzga más la apariencia, algo que en los hombres parece no ser tan relevante ¿Ha influido tu aspecto físico en algún sentido a la hora de trabajar en este sector?
Mi aspecto físico funciona bien en todos los aspectos de mi vida. Tengo un trabajo a tiempo completo (trabajo en marketing por Internet), pero la música y mi aspecto ayudan a que la gente me preste atención y me recuerde. Y creo que funciona para todos los géneros. Nunca fue un objetivo para mí, pero sí, si eres una persona con una apariencia brillante, la gente que te rodea te prestará atención.
¿Hay alguna situación que hayas vivido en esta industria por ser mujer que te haya marcado?
Cuando alguien trató de culparme por el hashtag #female-fronted porque suena como un fetiche. En mi opinión, este hashtag se refiere más al timbre del vocalista, como «metalcore» o «bajo de 8 cuerdas»… Esta es la forma de explicar lo que la música está esperando. Eso es todo.
Nuestro grupo parece estar encerrado en casa.
¿Piensas que en este sector prevalece la sororidad ante la envidia o al contrario?
Tengo que decir que entre mis amigas de bandas lideradas por mujeres no conozco a ninguna que se haya centrado realmente en esta idea. Sólo somos chicas a las que les gusta tocar música. Por supuesto, nos apoyamos unas a otras, pero también estamos dispuestas a apoyar a amigos de cualquier género.
Ha pasado ya bastante tiempo desde que comenzó la pandemia del Covid-19 y que tanto ha afectado a la cultura, especialmente a la música en directo. Poco a poco se van dando pasos hacia una vuelta a la normalidad, pero aún sigue habiendo riesgo. ¿Cómo lo has llevado todo? ¿De qué manera ha afectado a tu actividad y cómo has conseguido seguir adelante con tus proyectos?
Nuestro principal público está en Europa. No podemos ir allí. Sobre todo, no sólo por el covid, sino también por la política exterior de nuestros países. Nuestro grupo parece estar encerrado en casa.
Cuéntanos con más detalle, ¿en qué andas inmersa actualmente? ¿La situación actual influye de alguna manera en cómo lo estás enfocando a corto y medio plazo?
Estamos grabando el nuevo álbum. Se mueve muy lentamente pero afecta positivamente a la calidad.
¿Qué opinas sobre esta sección de mujeres en la industria? ¿Piensas que ayuda a destacar la presencia de la mujer y sus circunstancias en el rock y el metal; ¿o, por el contrario, crees que puede transmitir algún mensaje negativo?
La música es música y la música es para todos.
